Welcome, Spring, I’ve missed you so!
It is officially April, as you should well know, and the sun is streaming into the window of my little room in my apartment on campus at UCD in Dublin, Ireland. That’s right folks, I’m still here and enjoying each day more and more! Now that April has sauntered into my life for the twentieth time, I am psyched about the potential that the next few weeks hold. The slightly warmer weather and much more frequent sun-shiny days are calling my name and inviting me to explore this city that I temporarily call “home.” The past few months have been a blast, but I will not attempt to hide the fact that the damp, dark days of January and February did little to entice me out of my room where I found comfort in my mug of reliable Barry’s tea. The March break catered sufficiently to my thirst for adventure that I so recently discovered and was able to quench with jaunts here and there around Europe. And now that it’s April, 2nd to be exact, I have exactly 46 days until I am on a plane bound for the oh so inviting familiarity of home. I so look forward to that day! In the mean time, I have roughly seven weeks to embrace the quirky magnificence of this place and will be praying every morning that the Lord might grant me the energy, motivation, and curiosity to explore, experience and enjoy Dublin to an extent that I cannot even comprehend. I covet your prayers as I head into the last leg of this journey. I miss home and hugging the people that I love. The trees on campus are blooming beautifully but I can only think of how beautiful Belmont is in the spring. BUT I can only imagine how magical it will feel to be in Nashville next spring and be able to remember the amazing spring … that I am going to have here in Dublin!
